Your private Burano, Mazzorbo & Wine Tasting Tour will take you on a charming journey to discover two treasures of the Venice Lagoon: Burano and Mazzorbo. Your guide will meet you at your accommodation in Venice to take you on a four hour excursion.

The journey will start immediately while you enjoy the delightful views from your private boat.

Your first stop will be the unique Burano. Your guide will unveil the beauty of this small island in front of your eyes guiding you through its enchanting little streets. The island is internationally well-known for its specialty: Burano lace. Burano’s colorful houses are also a reason of popularity all around the world! The legend says that fishermen chose to paint the buildings with brilliant colors in order to be able to see them from the sea. In reality this was a practical way to delimit the properties. Today Burano is a marvelous island, a heaven that enchants the tourists, not only for the historical themes, but for its charm, for the unreal silence of its mornings, for the happy bawling, and for the peculiar local dialect, that has the characteristic to lengthen, almost to double, the consonants.

At the end of the Burano’s tour get ready to continue your journey through the enchanting Venetian Lagoon! A quick boat drive will introduce you to the hidden gem of Mazzorbo, still not touch by mass tourism. The city was found during the barbarian invasion and its name means literally great city; this small town was in fact once inhabited by thousands of people. However following the decline of the nearby island of Torcello, during the 10th century, Mazzorbo slowly lost importance and became a getaway for the rich Venetians. The unique Santa Caterina Monastery is the perfect example of the golden age of this little gem. The original church was built in 783, the one that we can admire today is a 13th century building. The church’s bell is one of the oldest of the entire lagoon. You will visit this little fishermen village where you will experience how the locals live!

Mazzorbo is also house of the Venissa Winery where you will try the famous Veneto’s wine! Your tour in fact will continue with the visit of the Wine Estate with its vineyards and cellars. You will taste both the Venissa Red Wine and the famous Venissa White Wine. The white wine is made by a unique grape the Dorona an autochthon grape once loved by the Doges! This Golden Grape grow only here and it was forgotten and almost lost until 2007 when the production started again.

At the end of your degustation your guide will return you to your accommodation in Venice.
