TOUR ITINERARY

Your Private Alba and Langhe Tour will take you on a unique journey to discover the beautiful and rich Langhe Region. Your driver and guide will meet you at your accommodation in Turin to take you on a full day excursion.

The journey will start immediately while you enjoy the delightful views from the car. The Langhe Region is famous around the world for its production of fine wines and for the precious Alba’s White Truffle.

Your first stop will be in the lovely town of Alba the center of the UNESCO Human Heritage area of Langhe. Here you will have some free time to discover the city on your own. We suggest to walk around its gorgeous historical center and to visit some of its beautiful churches and palaces. In particular worth a visit are the 12th century Duomo, the Church of San Domenico, the Church of San Giovanni Battista, the Bishop’s Palace and the Palazzo Comunale.

At the end of your tour meet again your driver, you still have a lot to discover!

Your tour will continue in the charming tiny village of Barbaresco. Here you will immediately have a tasting of its famous wines. Barbaresco is strictly produced only from Nebbiolo grapes; it is aged 3 years before being ready for the market. Other wines produced in the area are: Dolcetto d’Alba, Barbera d’Alba, Langhe Chardonnay and Langhe Rosso.

After your tasting you will have time to discover the city on your own. Barbaresco offers few attractions like a characteristic medieval tower or the ex-Church of San Donato. The 11th century tower is the symbol of the city. Once used to protect the village against the barbarian invasions today it is the perfect spot from where enjoy a breath-taking view over the lovely countryside. The charming ex-Church of San Donato houses the Barbaresco Regional Enoteca Wine Shop where it is possible to find more than 100 local wine labels.

We suggest also to try a few of the mouth-watering dishes of the area in one of the delicious restaurants that the city offers.

Your next stop will be in the delightful village of Barolo. Here you will enjoy a tasting of one of the most famous Italian wines. Barolo wine is made 100% from Nebbiolo grapes and it is aged a  minimum of 38 months. Barolo is a rich and full bodied wine, lightly colored with a complex aroma.

After your tasting you will have some free time to visit this lovely little village on your own. The best way to explore Barolo is walking around enjoying its little streets and typical buildings. Gorgeous is the ancient Castello Faletti built during the 10th century. It is located right in the center of Barolo and offers to its visitors many attractions like a museum and an enoteca. Visiting the museum it is possible to discover the history of the village and its surroundings, while the enoteca has a huge collection of local wines.

At the end of your tour your driver will bring you back to your accommodation in Turin.

TOUR ITINERARY

Meet your guide in the regal Piazza Castello to start your three hour Private Turin Walking Tour. The tour will give you the opportunity to discover this beautiful town where once the Kings of Italy reigned.

In the last five century the elegant Piazza Castello has been the center of the city life: the most important buildings in Turin are located here. The Savoy Family (the Royal Family) built their residence in the north side of the Piazza during the 16th century and lived there until they were exiled. Today the Royal Palace houses a museum dedicated to the House of Savoy. Another beautiful palace that you will admire is the one called Palazzo Madama (Madame Palace) where many regents lived. This palace had been through numerous renovations; today we can admire a beautiful baroque façade covered in white marble while the rear part of the palace still looks like a medieval castle.

Your next stop will be the gorgeous Turin’s Cathedral; the Duomo is dedicated to St John the Baptist and it was built next to a Romanesque campanile. The famous Chapel of the Holy Shroud was added to the Duomo at the end of the 17th century in order to accommodate the Shroud of Turin. The Cathedral is one of the few example of Renaissance art survived in the city. The interior is richly decorated thanks to the works of many artists of different periods.

A short walk will bring you in Piazza della Consolata where you will visit the beautiful Marian Sanctuary known as La Consolata. The first church on the spot was built during the 5th century; since then many renovations have completely remodeled it. Today La Consolata showcases a unique collection of style: a Roman wall, Romanesque campanile, baroque domes, a neoclassical portico and a stunning rococo interior. The church is very famous for an Icon of the Virgin housed in one of its chapel.

Your guide will now introduced you to one of the traditions of the city: you will enjoy a bicerin in one of the historical bar of Turin. The bicerin is an espresso coffee mixed with hot chocolate and cream. Every Sunday morning after attending to the Mass the Torinesi sit in one of the beautiful 19th century bar that Turin still offers and enjoy a bicerin with their families and friends!

Your tour will now bring you to visit the beautiful Piazza Vittorio and will end right in front of the unique Mole Antonelliana.

We suggest you to visit the famous Mole that today houses the Museo Nazionae del Cinema (National Museum of Cinema). With its 167.5 meters, or 550 feet, of high the Mole Antonelliana is the tallest museum in the world!

TOUR ITINERARY

Your private driver will pick you up from your accommodation in Turin to take you on a lovely 4 hour Private Venaria Reale Tour.

During the short drive from Turin to Venaria Reale enjoy the enchanting views from the car!

Upon your arrival you will meet our local guide that will help you to discover the gorgeous former Hunting Palace of the Royal House of Savoy. The complex is part of the UNESCO Heritage List since 1997.

Visiting the Palace of Venaria you will immediately enter in the Honor Court where once was located the gorgeous Fountain of the Stag. The main facade is decorated with cornucopias and fruits following the style of the 17th century. The two beautiful towers covered in ceramic’s tiles were added by Michelangelo Garove at the beginning of the 18th century. The towers are connected by a gallery called the Galleria di Diana built by Javarra together with the lovely Church of St. Hubertus. It was impossible to build a dome for the Church so the architect ordered to frescoes one in trompe-l’oeil.

Unfortunately during the Napoleonic Dominion the stunning gardens of the Palace were completely destroyed; however today you will visit a beautiful park with modern art pieces by Giuseppe Pennone. Where once stood the Fountain of the Stag, with its marble statues of hunters and hounds and a bronze stag, you will admire a beautiful 120 meters wide elliptical fountain:  the Water Theatre  will enchant you with its 100 water jets, color light projectors and steam pipes!
